FAQ

Questions

Do finders need an app?

No. Any phone camera opens the ball page from the QR code. If the code is scuffed, the short code printed under it works too.

What happens when my ball is found?

The find goes on the ball page with the course or town, the map and the miles update, and we email you.

Is my location shared?

Only with your permission, and only to about a kilometre on public pages. We never show an exact spot or a finder's email.

Does tracking cost anything?

No. Ball pages, finds, the map, the leaderboard and find emails are free, forever. Finders never pay.

Can I register balls I already bought?

Yes. Every coded ball can be registered by its owner at any time from its page or the Register page.

Is this the final price?

This is launch pricing. Checkout opens soon; orders placed before then are saved and we email you to confirm.

Will the code wear off?

It is printed with UV-cured ink and the strongest error correction, so it survives normal play. Heavily scuffed balls may lose the QR code; the short code under it usually survives longer.

What if someone else registered my ball?

The first registration wins, so register as soon as your balls arrive. If a ball is yours and someone else registered it, contact us and we will sort it out.

Can I register a whole box at once?

Yes. Enter the box code on the Register page. You can also register part of a box, like balls 1 to 6, to share it.

Do I need an account?

No. Owners register with an email; finders log a find with an email. That is all.

What counts as distance?

The straight-line miles between each find and the one before it. A ball found twice on the same course travels zero miles; a ball that ends up in another country travels a lot.

Can finders spam the leaderboard?

One device can log a given ball once every six hours, and finds need an email. We remove anything that looks staged.
